Health & Wellness Blog #6: Plant Seeds TODAY and Reap the Harvest TOMORROW!
You can only harvest what you sow. You’ve probably heard that expression before and while it often refers to farming, crops and harvest it also can have an enormous impact on your own health and wellness. We plant seeds in our field (the heart, mind and soul) and then reap the harvest in our lives in these five areas:
If you are looking for more Joy in your life and your relationships, and you don’t plant enough seeds in this field, you can’t expect to reap a harvest. In the same way in this “life’s field” we need to pull the “weeds” that choke out growth and development. When we take intentional steps in cultivating, planting and watering the soil, the 5 crops listed above will blossom and flower.
Planting seeds of Joy might look like this:
- Doing something you enjoy (JOY is in this word after all) or are passionate about.
- Trying something new you’ve always wanted to check out or explore.
- Spending quality time with people you enjoy the company of or love.
- Choosing to be intentional in bringing JOY to others by first asking ourselves the question, “What is “insert name here” passionate about and brings them JOY?”
🌿 WEEDING out the things in your life that strip away your JOY.
Choose one crop this week you would like to harvest and begin planting seeds in your heart, mind and soul. Once you start planting seeds in these 5 essential fields, our words and actions and how we treat each other begin to follow suit. Are my thoughts, words or actions toward myself and others bringing Joy, Peace, Love, Hope or Healing to the moment or situation? If not, it’s time to take a step back and reevaluate what I need to be doing.
