Jerome Wardlow

Jerome Wardlow Sr. has been a Special Education Teacher for 19 years in the Mankato Public,  Milwaukee Public School and West Allis-West Milwaukee school districts (2005-currently). Prior to that Jerome spent three seasons (2001-2004) as a college basketball player at Bethany Lutheran College in Mankato, Minnesota. During his Senior season Jerome primarily played with Freshmen and part of his responsibilities became practice coordination and player preparation. This led to Jerome venturing into high school coaching as well as teaching upon graduation. In 6 seasons as a high school boys varsity basketball coach at Wisconsin Conservatory/Ronald Reagan Jerome’s teams had a record of 85-27 with two WIAA regional championships. In 5 seasons as a varsity fastpitch coach at the same school Jerome’s teams won 4 conference championships with a record of 75-20. Jerome served as a commissioner for Wilson Premier Youth Baseball from 2014-2019, as a board member for Greenfield Girls Youth Basketball Club from 2018-2021, as the defensive backs and wide receivers coach at Nathan Hale from 2017-2020, as a coach in the Greenfield Hawks Youth Baseball club 2018-2021, as a coach in the ABC Lions AAU program from 2022-2023, as a coach for Greenfield Boys Youth Basketball Club 2020-Current, and is currently a coach in the Playground Elite basketball club.

Jerome currently serves on the Instructional Leadership Team and serves as a new teacher mentor at West Allis Central High School. With his background as an educator at the elementary, middle, and high school levels, this has led to an ability to tier instruction to the needs and development of his students as well as players. He learned that athletes often need scaffolds that allow them to access the next level of their performance just like students do.
